Guru gigs - Ain't nothing but...great music!
Doesn't really matter what genre a song or piece of music belongs to as long as it's great, exciting, relevant and from the heart...and best of all tells us something about ourselves and the human condition...that's why the title says 'blues and other good music', as even though tastes in music may change from generation to generation...the human story goes on and is recorded in the lyrics of songs and the way people can play their chosen musical instruments.
Hopefully the following stories on this page will cover not just blues, but soul, rock'n'roll, country, punk, funk, reggae, indie, folk, metal and well just anything good really... Hope no-one minds me indulging myself a bit but the picture accompanying this is of three of my top rated artists who are currently making some of the best music around. They are Imelda May, Ian Siegal and Norman Beaker and I'm showing them here 'cos they all recently played at the night of my life here in Darlington for my birthday gig...which was so good I still haven't come down. Well that's my little indulgance over so please if you have any bands or solo musicians who 'float your boat' as much as these people (and others) float mine...or if you are in a band yourself, email me (and include a photo if possible) at beryl@guruboutique.co.uk and I'll try and include your story and any photo's you supply on here if possible.
